  1. No he wouldn't have, Williams had a nice tournament. Upset Rathjen in the 1st round, lost 7-2 to the National Champ Henson in the 2nd round and won another in the wrestle backs to go 2-2, he was likely never going to AA this year but he is a ton of potential and should get on the podium next year
  2. Fix should be seeded 1st
  3. Hofstra has been absolutely awful for a very long time, as a Long Islander it's painful to see (especially remembering the Tom Ryan days). I actually have Rutgers season tickets (not an alumni) and me and my buddy drive the 2 hours to their matches since Hofstra and LIU are so bad. Dennis P seems like a GREAT guy but he is long overdue to be fired, which I hate to say because he is an alumni and seems like such a good dude, but the program is embarrassing.
  4. I'm not an Iowa fan but I am definitely pulling for this kid, he seems to embody all the right things. And he appears to be damn good, I don't think he is a flash in the pan I would be surprised if he doesn't AA
  5. I sure hope so for the sport/Team USA's sake
  6. rankings don't matter, Messenbrink will likely be the #2 seed at NCAA's because he avoids Carr, O'Toole and Izzy at the conference tournament. No one in the Big 10 tournament is going to touch him
  7. How many guys would Askren steal in the transfer portal if Wisconsin fired Bono and took him? A team full of his AWA guys plus recruiting easily win a trophy. Big mistake by the Wisconsin AD by passing him over IMO
  8. It's bizarre Little Rock is in the PAC and Cal Baptist is in the Big 12, should have been flipped
  9. There is still a HUGE separation but OkSt may be the 2nd best team in the country. Looking forward to their duals with Mizzou and Iowa to see
  10. I would love to see them in the Big 12 where they a cultural fit anyway, they never should have been in the PAC
  11. won 8 out of 10 matches but the team wrestled pretty poorly, we saw the return of grumpy John in the post match press conference
  12. it's possible, really looking forward to this match. Would have loved to see Munoz on the Pokes like his old man
  13. is there anyway to see mat assignments? It isn't working on track
  14. such a shame Covid destroyed the best non nationals college tournament of the year. Instead of having one amazing stacked tournament, now we have two watered down tournaments with Midlands and Soldier Salute.
  15. I wonder if a kid like Bo will take the Cejudo/Pico road and forego college altogether. He can still train with Cael at the NLWC and at the Olympic training center and would have a great shot at making a team very quickly IMO
  16. I think that's a fair question, I am a big fan of Bo and how he carries himself but this kid has been grinding at an elite level since he was a kid and he only just got to High School. It is very hard to stay on this pace from 8 until his 20's when he will be undoubtably trying to make Olympic teams
  17. Would be a great fit at Oklahoma State for his last year as 157 is their only major hole in the lineup
  18. which of those wrestlers is Beric beating? I'll wait for your answer
  19. He didn't pick the Sooners, he settled for the Sooners. He isn't beating out Spratley, Hughes, Carter, Jamison etc. 125-141 is stacked with young talent, he would have been sitting for a few years and went to a place he can compete to start right away. Best of luck to him
  20. Honestly, and I'm no Penn State fan, judging by the eye test I think Zain was more dominant than Gable in college. The weight classes he wrestled in are also much more competitive than heavyweight and I think that should also count for something. Gable lost twice to Cassar who was good but Zain lost twice to Logan Steiber and you can't compare Cassar and Steiber
  21. They won't come out and say it, but I think Plott may redshirt to get a year away from Starocci and let him graduate then go and try and win a title. As much as I like Plott nobody is on Starocci's level in college
  22. Jordan Williams was never going 157 he will be 149 with Sammy Alvarez at 141. 157 is definitely a hole
  23. this is BS, JoJo beat Chandler in a wrestle off, there is nothing preferential about that. Fact is, JoJo was a bad matchup stylistically for him and would probably beat him 8 out of 10 times if they wrestled off.
