  1. Just looked at the list of guys leaving and not to be rude but I don’t think the team is losing much.
  2. Miklus went to Iowa St. to be closer to his ill father. Boersma isn’t surprising to me after watching him wrestle. Would be shocked if coach Smith retired. In an interview earlier this year said he loves it and wants to continue forever.
  3. Took his brother 3 years to fill his body adequately for heavy. They were basically carbon copies of each other.
  4. As a fan I’m heart broken over how the team finished this year, will take time to digest. Way too early to figure anything out about next year. I don’t know what it would take to have Ben or Max come on to staff or take over but IMO that would be the biggest boost for the program. They have a clear understanding of what it takes to prepare physically and mentally for the right time. They also have a great understanding of breaking down opponents and how to maximize their wrestlers chances of winning. Don’t get me wrong, I love the way Maple works with the guys. Also not bashing Coach Smith. I have nothing but respect for Smith. He has brought this program out of the ashes (when he started) to very respected. But to get to the next level (top five year in year out) there obviously has to be some kind of change somewhere.
  5. Everyone should be entitled to believe, or not believe, whatever they want without ridicule from anyone. We are all human beings just trying to do our best at living.
  6. Sammie never beat either Purler in high school. They wrestled 3 times. Lantz I don’t know about for sure but I would not think he would beat either, he might have caught one of them their sophomore year.
  7. Sammy lost to the Purler brothers (Tony and Nick) every time they wrestled in high school. Wentzville school (Purlers) was in a different class from Francis Howell (Henson), otherwise Sammy might have never won a state championship in high school. Reason I have both Nick and Tony listed is because they alternated who wrestled Henson through out high school.
  8. Brock has been this style of wrestler since he was in high school. He likes to sit the corner on opposing persons shot. No secret. Apparently in the room he is much more offensive. I think he has above average shots when he takes them, but when things get really tough he relies on being super hard to score on. His scrambling ability is top notch and is right there with O’Toole. Everything that has been said here has been said to Brock by the coaches.
  9. I have also heard it is weight management issue for Seltzer. He opened the door for Moore to get a crack and it might be his spot now. Got to be honest I knew nothing about Kade Moore but it didn’t take long for him to make me a believer. Next couple of years we have some really good talent coming in up and down all the weights but especially 125-149. The main difference I see in the tigers in the last 10 years is the depth in the room.
  10. I don’t pay anything and wait to see the results. A lot quicker to see outcome of a match, dual, or tournament now days. Hell used to have to wait till WIN or USA magazines came out.
  11. Trackwrestling. Search cougar clash
  12. Wish I could take back the money I spent for my daughter’s education to Lindenwood. Was super excited win they went D1 on to jump up and down on the sport I’m passionate about. Sons a bitches.
  13. I was wondering the same thing. If I had to put money on it I would say no but my gambling abilities are not worth a crap. Should see Steed at 157 and Harman or Hawks at 184.
  14. Both were great no doubt. I just put Stieber ahead by a bit.
  15. I think if Steed sucked down to 149 he would not maintain the strength needed.
  16. I thought Steiber was generational but everyone pretty much knew he was going to tOSU. Pico, ahh, what could have been?
  17. Mizzou has sort of replaced the Lindenwood open with their own Tiger style tournament in KC. Stinks for us that live on the east side of the state. I made the 1 1/2 drive to Mizzou to watch them wrestle the ASU JV team.
  18. Took his brother years to fill out to a decent heavy and still has tank issues. Can’t see Rocky leaving 197. Reason I say that about Zac is because they were both the same body wise. To be honest 197 would have been the best weight for Zac imo.
  19. I think 184 is going to be real interesting to see play out, especially when Sinclair arrives

  21. Sounds like Hawks has the upper hand right now. Coach Smith answers just about every question this upcoming season in interviews on flo and themat. Sounds like there are going to be some battles. Keegan staying at 65.
  22. There can never be enough talent in the room. Look at PSU. Things always work out. Might not work out the way we think but they always sort out.
  23. Is it just speculation for what wrestlers are getting or is there actual documentation for what each wrestler receives. Shoot, the highest international guys we have just started making decent money 5-10 years ago. Find it hard to believe collegiate kids are knocking down major coin, outside of a handful or so guys. Niche sports don’t usually rake in lots of cash. A few universities come out ahead with their program but I would think only a few.
