You all should be embarrassed. You know how many teenage boys punch other teenage boys? Yeah, he shouldn’t wrestle again anytime soon, but to act like he’s just some lost cause and it’s “too late” to help him because he punched another kid? He didn’t use a weapon, didn’t try to continue it, and you all don’t know his history. 100% guarantee some of you hypocrites threw some punches when you were teenagers. I know I did. Did you grow out of it? I did.

You’re an idiot. Locking someone like this in prison is the one way to guarantee this person goes down the worst possible route and never really contributes to society. Lots of kids punch other kids. Most of them end up contributing positively to society and never assault or batter anyone as adults. He shouldnt ever wrestle again, but this was a sucker punch not attempted murder.

He was better than McKee then just like he is now. Was just a little undersized then. He’s also undefeated against Gliva. If Eggum gave up on him because he was losing in the room to an older guy that had 15+ pounds on him…. That’s not saying much for Eggum. It’s not like he is some egotistical dude who was like “I’m 125 or I’m transferring.” He went and wrestled 133 somewhere else when he would’ve been the best 133 on the Gophers that year just like he would’ve been the best 125 on the Gophers this year. I think Eggum is too loyal to local guys. Eggum has now lost five of his best wrestlers plus his best “committed” recruit over the last two years. This is in addition to having three former All-Americans on the roster this year that ALL failed to AA again. We’re talking about nine guys either leaving the program or failing to achieve their previous success. That’s pretty terrible.

I didn’t say anything about NIL. It’s a coaches job to keep good wrestlers on the team and keep recruits committed. At least half of the wrestlers that left the Gophers had nothing to do with NIL.

I’d expect either that happens or we get another Matt Ramos situation where Spratley transfers then potentially outscores Pat at Nationals. I can’t believe Eggum isn’t on the hot seat. 15th place…Couldn’t convince Gable to come back, couldnt keep his top recruit committed(Chittum), couldnt keep his best wrestler(Nagao), couldnt keep Ramos(outplaced every Gopher), rumors of Blockhus not coming back, being outscored by SDSU/Hahn right across the border…

Past accomplishments is no longer a hodge criteria so that should eliminate Yianni.
