  1. How many of these “grad transfers” are actually getting their advanced degrees from the University’s they transfer to ? I am genuinely curious. Wrestleknownothing ? Anybody have data on this ? Or is it in reality just a “reason” that appeases to the masses to wrestle at a higher profile program that didn’t recruit said wrestler or invest in them previously.
  2. There were already too many Conference rematches in the 1st round of NCAA’s this year. This expanded B12 idea would result in even more rematches which is not good IMO. Personally, I wish that a priority was placed on NOT having Conf rematches in the 1st round but the Seeding Committee appears to be doing just the opposite … or so it seems.
  3. This is discussed every year post NCAA Tournament. And then it’s not discussed again for another 51 weeks. Lol. Simple solution in my opinion. If advancement points are only worth HALF in the consolations …. then Bonus points should also only be worth HALF as much. It’s hard to understand the rationale to score Consolations the same (in regards to Bonus).
  4. Thank you for that graphic. A sad one in my opinion … but … it’s a true reflection of where D1 College Wrestling is at. Penn St., Michigan, & Iowa scoring 150 points between them. That speaks for itself.
  5. If Virginia Tech (a real sold Program) isn’t safe then who is ? The Portal / NIL will accelerate the cutting of small/medium Programs.
  6. IMO, nothing about the Transfer Portal is good for the long term health of D1 Wrestling. You asked.
  7. I have attended ALL of these. My comments in () next to Mr. Dole’s.
  8. This. I was in attendance @ KC and most fans were as perplexed as me. The Mizzou schedule is a joke. No CKLV, Midlands, Scuffle, Soldier Salute, South Beach Duals, or Collegiate Wrestling Duals. Most of our guys either didn’t have (or) barely had the 15 required matches for RPI going into Big 12. HEW was obvious with Mauller & Mocco. Wonder if that apathy was contagious. I am also more than ready for Chapter 2.
  9. One (1) minute for review. If you don’t see enough to overturn the initial call in that time, move on.
  10. Agree 100%. My 21st NCAA & this year was arguably the best I have personally experienced.
  11. No … it’s not the story EVERY year. However, this years Big 12 & especially NCAA performance makes one wonder what’s going on within the Program.
  12. So, does that Monday deadline for pulling injured wrestlers no longer exists ?
  13. If I recall ... wasn't there a deadline yesterday for replacing/withdrawing a qualified wrestler? If so, no bracket changes due to Alternates ... yet. Can anyone confirm or add additional insight.
  14. Agree. The Regular Season would beome even more of a joke which would be the deathe knell of D1 Wrestling as we know it.
  15. That's the 2nd Program this season (Lindenwood being the other). IMO, these eliminations will continue due in large part to Transfer Portal & NIL making it increasingly difficult to become & remain competitive / relevent.
  16. He mffl in Big 10 before even qualifying. Received an At-Large bid. Makes me wonder how healthy he is if he forfeited before even qualifying ?
  17. Genuinely curious for the basis of your take. Injury only or other factors in addition ?
  18. 1. Keckeisen - 80% 2. Kerkvliet - 75% 3. Brooks - 70% 4. Haines - 60% 5. Lovett - 55% 6. Mendez - 50% 7. O'Toole - 40% 8. Fix - 30% 9. Davis - 20% 10. Lewis - 15%
  19. I didn't expect Brennan (Little Rock) to get teched by Valencia (ASU) in the "True 2nd" match. Was Brennan physically or emotionally spent after a 1 point loss in the Finals to Kemp (Cal Poly) ?
  20. Trent Hidlay wins a Conference Championship wrestling just 1 match.
  21. Anybody know the result of the "True" 2nd place match between Baker (Campbell) and Munro (UTC) ?
  22. Maida will be looking for an "At Large" bid. 6 available. He should be hoping for mininal upsets in other Qualifiers. Stout already qualified (Top 6). MFF may slightly hurt his NCAA Seed.
  23. Round of 16 complete. - 20 of the 22 AQ wrestlers advance to the Quarters (all but IM #20 Tyus of SIU @ 149 & Herrera-Rondon of Clarion @ 157) 1. Rider - 14, 2. C. Michigan - 11.5, 3. N. Illinois - 9 - To the Quarters we go
  24. Round of 16 complete. - Binghamton advances 3 - #11 Seeds to the Quarters - 50 of the 53 AQ wrestlers advance to the Quarters 1. Cornell - 21.5, 2. Lehigh - 20.5, 3. Penn - 19.5
