  1. I might get an X account just to see the back and forth.
  2. I'll agree with this somewhat; however, parents have a say as well as voters who vote those in who make policies and legislation. I am all for NOT banning books based on the normal/actual definition of the word ban, not the media/liberal new definition of what ban means. I am however for a parent expressing their concern about what sort of books and their content are available to a young child in the school library. If they feel that content isn't suitable for children of a certain age, and the school board and/or local legislation decides the books shouldn't be available for the children in a school library I support that 100%. Also, what I am 100% against is how the media portrays these types of topics...and people fall for that crap!
  3. LOL "I was wrong, and instead of admitting it, I am going to try and argue about a completely different scenario."
  4. Book bans are accelerating across the country amid right-wing pressure campaign | CNN Business This article is so ridiculous! Talk about using emotional terms like "book ban" to get people all riled up about something. The article provides no details about the "book bans", just blatantly calls them bans. Not to mention it only mentions the "bans" the R's were behind while never once mentioning the "bans" the D's were behind. Also, got a kick out of their "source" for number of "bans" and the reason for them. And why not throw some more emotion onto it by claiming some of the authors of the books were so "hurt" by it and it is adversely affecting their life...that may be the case, but what about the authors of the books the D's wanted "banned" mentioned or how it affected them?? SMH...sad part is a large number of people will "fall for it".
  5. Wow...you pompous self-righteous child. This is probably a good place to just end my "conversations" with you as it is almost laughable how you assume, judge, label, and downright have no idea what you are talking about. You are an immature, young, Mr./Ms. Know-It-All that at the end of the day has yet to grow up and truly experience life and the knowledge that that provides. You throw around accusations and terms like "privilege" to grown ass men who have lived more life than you probably ever will yet you think you know who they are, what they believe in their heart, and have the audacity to try and lecture them on things they have had to deal with longer than you have been alive. One day, my hope for you, is that you actually grow up and learn what life is really about, and to do something that takes a lot of maturity and humbleness, and that is do some self-reflection. I have, as all the people you argue with constantly have said many many times, I am ALL about helping those less fortunate. I am ALL about equality for every demographic in our society. I am ALL for trying to actually make a difference by volunteering, working at food banks, donating to food banks, coaching for free, buying the less fortunate sports equipment, clothes, shoes, etc. I am very fortunate in life to have what I currently have but understand the hard work and sacrifice it takes to get there...as well as understand and remember where I came from; thus, terms like "privilege" are absolutely ridiculous to me. That does NOT make me un-empathetic for those in unfortunate situations or those different than mine was, it does not mean that I don't think people should receive help to get them in a better spot in life, it does not mean I think I am better than any other single person out there. But it also doesn't mean every single person out there should just blindly receive a pass in terms of self-responsibility and accountability (and no I am not talking about the mentally handicap). Good luck to you TPTD....you'll need it
  6. First off...I never took anything personal...not sure why you always feel like that is what is happening?? I was using myself as an example to make the point, which many others have continually tried to make and you just brush over, and that is, people who don't have the resources can get the resources by doing things for themself in order to achieve them. Funny part is I KNEW you were going to throw out the word "privilege" eventually. I actually started to address that proactively in my previous post, but decided to let you bring it up...so predictable. I wonder when people like you who find the boogey man in everything, think everyone is a victim (except white heterosexual men), think people don't and shouldn't have or take responsibility to their situation and to do something about it. There is always something or someone to blame for it. Claiming privilege is a copout in my opinion. Not because I don't understand or have empathy, but it does no one any good using terms like that including the people you think you are trying to "fight for". Why make excuses for them versus empower them and telling them they can get out of the "cycle"?? Or is it easier to bring out how crappy slavery was, oppression was, etc., in the past? I personally think that does nothing for people other than allow them an excuse to not help themselves and to blame someone. This isn't the 40's/50's any longer. We have made GREAT progress in regard to equality and access to resources no matter where you happen to be born. I have a feeling you are too young to have any sort of perspective other than what you read in liberal literature and what you hear at the whacky liberal education institution you work. You are probably basing it off of what 25 years on earth? Maybe start listening to people that have been here 50+ years and have seen how much progress has been made?? By the way I have nothing against education jobs or the people who work in them...I think most of them are amazing human beings...as long as they don't bring their political agenda into the classroom and try to brainwash the kids. Heck, my kid tells me about what some teachers say...good thing he is a kid that thinks for himself and always looks at all kinds of perspectives before he makes an opinion...it is sad when he tells me about some of his peers who just takes what their teacher, MSM, social media, etc. spew word for word without thinking about it themselves.
  7. I feel bad for the moms of the kids who were born with a bat, glove, and/or team...ouch. In all seriousness, I grew up poor as f...parents never bought me anything for sports, nor signed me up for any sport, and maybe came to 2 or 3 games/matches...I wrestled, played football, and baseball...wonder how I was able to do that?? Oh, and how did I ever get a glove, bat, singlet, shoes, etc...hmmm?? Oh yeah...worked a job since I was 11 to pay for those things. According to you I should've had no chance of ever playing, yet alone being any good at any of those things...but as usual, you are very wrong...AGAIN!! Keep reading your books and wallowing in the complete lack of understanding of the real world at your educational job.
  8. I'll type slowly...show us where wearing a thin easy mask helped each other out during Covid. Me not wearing a mask in the grocery store as I did my shopping and walked by many elderly people who were wearing a mask did not put them at any more risk than they were willing to take.
  9. I've been called many names that weren't my given name or attached to my preferred gender...doesn't make me feel uncomfortable at all. I couldn't care less. By the way...I am small and insignificant...no one gives a crap who I am or what I think. Sorry...if you feel so offended and uncomfortable by what someone called you or said to you, then you need to see a therapist...because the problem isn't the person who said that to you...it is your mental health. Quit making every single thing in life about yourself to where you care so much about other people say and have no significance in your life. Geeze
  10. Please provide any evidence/data that masks that were worn by people that were not at risk were beneficial to people who were at risk...we'll wait....
  11. AKA...your extremely minority opinion overrides the vast majority in society...got it. Funny how you use what you call "one off situations" to make your point, but when others do the exact same thing you are against using "one off situations"? I have never used a "one off situation" in any of my arguments as there has been WAY more than one situation in which a biological male being in biological women/girls bathroom/changing rooms has occurred and caused harm...but those according to you don't count, only the one off situation where a trans felt uncomfortable having to use a bathroom of their assigned biological sex...and you never addressed why you are all for going to the bathroom with whomever/whenever, but are against a trans that is biologically male using a biological male bathroom?? Also, I don't believe I am the one using emotion in my opinion, I am using science, which you conveniently left out in your rant. The basis for everything you wrote is not based on science, statistics, data...it is 100% pure emotional based...you call it empathy. My take is based on empathy...for ALL...not just for one extremely small group of people, but rather finding a solution for EVERYONE to be comfortable. Sorry that seems so extreme to you to think of everyone. By the way this ideological idea you present is NOT progress. Keep telling yourself that....
  12. Thank you to you and your family!!!! I will continue to stand and honor the people like those in your family.
  13. Says who?? You?? The extremely small yet loud minority?? You are the one who is predictable. Biological sex is NOT outdated nor will it ever be. Psychologically speaking things evolve and change because it is based on emotions and feelings...however, those things do not nor will ever supersede actual chromosomal biological science. You stomping your feet won't change that. Not to mention you talking about immigration and civil rights as a comparison to biology is not only laughable it is just wrong. Again, I wish you had the intellectual fortitude to be able to sit back and actually read the things you type on here and try and understand how ridiculous you come across. You never can stay on topic, you often "argue" in theories and assumptions about people. And when asked questions, like you ALWAYS do, you never are able to answer them specifically, but rather babble and babble on about emotional liberal tropes and talking points while never actually making any sort of point other than to call people names or insinuate they feel a certain way about a topic so that you or someone else can play the victim. I'll try one more time...if you are for anyone going to the bathroom with anyone, why do you care if biological males go to the bathroom with biological males?? Do you think trans folks will feel marginalized if they actually have a bathroom they know they can go in without making anyone else uncomfortable? Are you hung up that people may be comfortable?? Why? Aren't you for people having different opinions on things? Or is your thought process the only way to go and the vast majority of the worlds most civilized societies view on the matter now outdated because YOU say it is??
