  1. Interesting how different states do things differently. I am surprised that WA doesn't have income tax...wish where I lived there wasn't any. And I could go on and on about capital gains but will save that for a different time...oh and the estate tax.
  2. Why oh why do "news" sites do this?!?! Take a tragedy and turn it into a political thing...so nauseating!! This is some sever partisan b.s. and using the poor victims of the bridge collapse as a way to push a political agenda and bash Trump. How and why grown "adults" think they are doing "good" by using the tragedy as a way to address the boarder issue is beyond comprehension. Oh and TDS is real my friends. By the way this is the lead story on their webpage...at least it was when I was on it. The true face of immigration | CNN Politics
  3. Can't believe that this is even a thing...how does someone rationalize it in their head that it is totally fine for people to come into someone else's property and then claim it as their own?? Not to even mention having laws that protect the people that do it...crazy!
  4. First bold: How would someone take RV's post as other then for some reason they dislike rich people when all they do is regurgitate the negative troupes about them. Second bold: Because they run the company and take on all the risk. If you want to make more money as a worker, work harder for a better position, change careers if needed, get more education, do something for yourself. Some act as if every single CEO/Executive do absolutely nothing or have done nothing to get to where they are. Even if someone was just "given" an executive position they would still have to know how to do it otherwise they would get booted by the board. Are there bad apples and terrible CEO's/Executives....of course! But to just blanketly bash these people because they make a lot of money is ridiculous. And this crazy believe that they "hoard their money" and don't give enough away to help others is asinine. What are they supposed to do spend/give as much of their money away that they have to live month to month? I would respect people like you and RV if you just blatantly said what you truly feel, ie., 100% distribution of wealth no matter what someone brings to the table.
  5. Totally could be on board with that. I agree there is a ton of waste in all of government including the military...God knows my brother told me about it all the time. I am in process improvement and would love to be let loose in a government agency...but reality it isn't hard to find the waste to cut but rather the people change management is what is so difficult.
  6. Man you have a skewed way of looking at things. The only thing you said that is remotely true is that there are tax shelters and loopholes. While I don't always agree with them, some of them are there for a reason. The rest of what you said is just wackadoodle stuff. You do realize that without the business the wealthy people run wouldn't have jobs, right?!?! So middle class get all THEIR money from the wealthy. And the idea that the rich "hoard it" is as ridiculous as it comes. I love asking these questions to people like you that just blanketly hate people who have more money than them. How much money do you think company CEO's should make? Do you know what it takes to build up a company and run one? What have the big bad "rich" people done to you to hate them so much? By the way...you do realize the big bad rich R's are the biggest philanthropists out there, right?!
  7. This is essentially how my brain thinks about taxes. I just don't understand why it isn't the same % for everyone....people that don't make as much don't pay as much...people that make more pay more.
  8. It is amazing how people can seem to turn any word into something "bad"...must be frightening to wake up every day.
  9. Despite surprisingly not disagreeing with the majority, not all, of what you suggest, I am curious @ThreePointTakedown why do you think the estate tax should increase?
  10. 6-1/7-2/or whatever win against guys who absolutely destroy the rest of the field is considered domination...and watching the matches there was never a doubt who was going to win.
  11. @red viking how do you feel about the amount of money we spend on our military?? Just can't seem to truly pinpoint what your stance on that is. Oh and the support for Israel we provide and how you feel about the war against Hamas??
  12. Thanks Jimmy...I definitely do not...and without getting too deep in my personal life, despite my dad being an absent alcoholic dad, I suffered far more trauma from a stepdad that was extremely abusive...only way to not go down the same path was self-accountability and to NOT be like that. And it drives my behavior/emotions when it comes to domestic violence and child abuse...probably one of the only ways I end up in prison is my reaction to that if it happened to a family member, or close friends or their kids.
  13. Thank you....just glad he did it...he's been sober for 35+ years now
  14. My dad didn't stop being a severe alcoholic because his kids and the rest of the family asked him to...many many many times. He finally quit when he decided HE was going to do it and took the action to do it.
  15. So who was "hurt" by this "illegal" activity?? Did it harm RBY as a child? Did it teach him to not work hard and achieve his goals? Did he not get an education? Just truly trying to see how you feel this is such a grievous act.
  16. You do realize that the data shows, without doubt, that a person's chance of getting to a point where their addiction isn't controlling their life is much higher when THEY want to help themselves...aka, self accountability. In treatment what do you think they preach...yep...self accountability! Yes, I know some surround the treatment around God, but ultimately it still is all about self accountability. Also, one isn't going to not be homeless if they don't want to help themselves.
  17. What was illegal? Are you saying me not putting my child in kindergarten when he was 5 and waited until he was 6 is illegal? You know what is best for every kid and know better than their parents?? Dude...YOU get a grip
  18. Shows how stupid I am on this subject, but I always thought EV's were much lighter than gas vehicles for some reason.
  19. Taxes and the rich??? WTF?!?! You must be TPTD's little babble brother who wants to change the subject every other post for some reason. I'll cut to the chase...this is about self accountability....period. Not about anything other than you shouldn't expect others to do things for you without you doing everything you can do to help yourself FIRST. It isn't blaming others for your ill wills and unfortunate situation. It isn't expecting handouts and taking the easy way out. It is about working hard. It is about dealing with the hand you are dealt in life. It is about constant self-improvement. Etc....
  20. So it sounds like you skirt the term "accountability" by falling back on the adage of "nuance". You know exactly what it means and what it references...yet you want to bog it down with all these "what if's" and one-off circumstances...I ask you why do you want to do that?? It literally would be impossible to have a conversation with someone if all you talked about where the what if's and one off's.
  21. People who say things like this is code for victim, simple and weak minded, wrong, lazy, uneducated, etc. Fun game to play isn't it. Maybe save yourself the time and others time from having to read it and just don't post stupid crap like you did.
  22. Wonder if there is legalese that could get around this...for instance it is around how they get paid for their image and likeness? Again, just ideas but may be impossible to do.
