  1. I'm sure you know more about it than I do.............BUT............it was the 2020 NCAA tournament that was cancelled and Bartlett was in High School in the spring of 2020.
  2. Is this year Beau Bartlett's last year of eligibility or does he have another year? I ask because the Penn State roster lists him as a Senior this season yet WrestleStat has him listed as a Junior. He has competed three seasons prior to this season (2021-2022-2023) in the Big Ten Championships. And the extra "virus" year of eligibility was for the spring of 2020. So as far as I can tell this should be his last year of eligibility. Feel free to tell me how this is incorrect but try to be an adult about it if you would. Thanks
  3. If Cannon ended up transferring to any of those 3 PAC 12 schools at the very least his winter months would not be as harsh and he definitely would have more sunshine. Plus the babes at sunshine rich Western schools tend to be just that - BABES. As to Valencia, so far, he can hot or cold. Sometimes he looks great. Other times .........not so much. Someone needs to coach him UP. And with his older brothers no longer on the team it appears he's not getting that at ASU.
  4. As a PAC 12 guy I'd say Arizona State, Cal Poly and Stanford could all use an addition at 133 lbs for next season. Since he's been at Northwestern maybe Stanford or Cal Poly would be a good fit.
  5. It's certainly interesting and informative. That's for certain.
  6. If Ysaguirre can't drop down to 133 lbs I would think it would be Chlebove as the ASU starter at 133 lbs for 2024. Or at worst, if Emilio does drop down to 133 lbs Chlebove is the back-up for Ysaguirre in case of injury. Also, isn't Chlebove Zeke's son-in law? Or do I have him confused with someone else?
  7. I think the answer to what you say you didn't know about him going to Harvard is right there in what you posted here: "He later told me he kind of wished he hadn't gone to Harvard, he wanted to go to Dartmouth or Brown"
  8. Sorry but I think that's incorrect. In 2019 the only wrestling Negron did was at the Hokie Open, the Wolfpack Open, the Reno T.O.C. and the Appalachian Open. And he was wrestling for the Wolfpack Wrestling Club at that time. He did the same in 2020 - wrestling in only Open tournaments and as a member of the Wolfpack Wrestling Club so I suppose either of those two years could be considered a RS year for him. Plus he didn't wrestle at all during the 2021 season. He didn't start wrestling in dual matches until 2022 with Penn State. So he does have at least one more year of eligibility remaining possibly two (if he missed the 2021 season due to injury). Also since he wrestled for three seasons (2019-2020-2021) as a member of the Wolfpack Wrestling Club I'm not even sure if that counts against his NCAA "clock". But IF Arizona State were to get Olejnik from the TP and Negron stayed at ASU the WrestleStat wrestler comparison tool shows Olejnik beating Negron by MD (13-2) - for whatever that is worth.
  9. Since I don't see where anyone else has put together a projected 2024 lineup here for Cal Poly I will try to do just that. However I'm sure someone closer to the Cal Poly program could very easily do better. It's important to note that Cal Poly had half of their lineup compete at this year's NCAA tournament, i.e., they are a relevant wrestling program despite what some people believe. And they have absolutely improved dramatically in the last two years. RETURNING STARTERS LISTED IN BOLD PRINT 125 - Antonio Lorenzo - 2024 RS JR - 8-10 at 125 lbs in 2023 - Placed 3rd at 2023 PAC 12 tournament - NCAA qualifier 133 - T.B.D. (transfer portal maybe) 141 - Lawrence Saenz - 2024 RS SR - 11-8 at 141 lbs in 2023 - Placed 3rd at 2023 PAC 12 tournament 149 - T.B.D. (again T.P. maybe) 157 - Luka Wick - 2024 RS SO - 14-12 at 157 in 2023 - 2023 PAC 12 runner-up at 157 lbs (did not compete at NCAA's) 165 - Legend Lamer - 2024 RS JR - 12-11 at 165 lbs in 2023 - Placed 3rd at 2024 PAC 12 tournament 174 - Could be any of at least five guys including the 170 lbs CA 2023 State champ (Luke Condon). Other possibilities include Jarad Priest who split time between 184 and 174 and Kendall LaRosa (who went 7-3 in 2023) or a 4 time Oregon H.S. State champ (Daschle Lamer). 184 - Adam Kemp - 2024 6th year SR (if he returns) - 1-3 at 184 lbs in 2023. His 3 losses were to guys ranked by WS as # 4, # 9 and # 13 (all by Dec.) or Tyler Hodges - True FR (5th at 2023 CA State tournament at 182 lbs). His last match last season was on Dec. 20th, 2022. 197 - With Bernie Truax in the T.P. it's anyone's guess who Cal Poly will have at 197 next season. Maybe another T.P. case? 285 - Trevor Tinker - 2024 - 2024 RS JR - 15-10 at 285 lbs in 2023 - 2023 PAC 12 runner-up at 285 lbs - NCAA qualifier Bottom line is roughly half of the lineup for Cal Poly for 2024 appears to be undetermined at this point. My guess would be they are going to be very active in the transfer portal this off-season.
  10. I choose to make predictions on the current reality and not with wishful thinking and hoping. But to each their own I suppose. At this point where Truax is actually going to go is 100 percent unknown. Hell he could end up staying at Cal Poly. I for one don't see him dropping down 13 lbs regardless of where he goes. He has done nothing but go up in weight since he started wrestling in college. He went from 149 his first year up to 165 lbs his 2nd year, then up to 174 lbs his 3rd year, then up to 184 lbs his 4th year and up to 197 lbs this last season. And this last season was his best record to date (18-3 at 197 lbs).
  11. What are the odds that Schultz takes an Olympic redshirt? What does ASU do for a heavyweight if that happens?
  12. Truax has committed to Penn State? And he's dropping down 13 lbs??? I must have missed something. When did all of this occur?
  13. STANFORD - Returning starters listed in bold print 125 lbs - Nico Provo - True SO - 4th at 2023 PAC 12 tournament. NCAA qualifier 133 lbs - Jackson DiSario - 5th year SR (if he returns) - 4th at 2023 PAC 12 tournament OR Jacob Joyce - True FR 141 lbs - Jason Miranda - 4th year SR - 4th at 2023 PAC 12 tournament 149 lbs - Jaden Abas - RS SR - 2023 PAC 12 runner-up & NCAA qualifier 157 lbs - Daniel Cardenas - True SO - 2023 PAC 12 champion & NCAA qualifier 165 lbs - Charlie Darracott - 5th year SR (Assuming Shane Griffith does not return) OR Hunter Garvin - RS FR 174 lbs - Tyler Eischens - 6th year SR (If he returns) 3rd at 2023 PAC 12 tournament & NCAA qualifier OR Lorenzo Norman - True FR 184 lbs - Brook Byers - True SO - 3rd at 2023 PAC 12 tournament at 184 lbs 197 lbs - Nick Stemmet - 4th year SR - PAC 12 runner-up at 2023 tournament & NCAA qualifier 285 lbs - Peter Ming - RS JR - 5th at 2023 PAC 12 tournament unless they bring in someone else via the TP
  14. 1. Does Arizona State have Teemer move up to 165 lbs for 2024 to make room for say Parco or Ramos to move up to 157 lbs? 2.Who replaces McGee at 133 lbs for 2024? Chlebove or Ysaguirre or someone else? 3. Who replaces Norfleet at 197 lbs?
  15. That's significant I suppose for a wrestling team (6 out of what 35?) but compare that to the disaster that is Wyoming's men's 15 man basketball team this season and all of their players who have either been kicked off the team or entered the TP or both. Max Agbonkpolo Ethan Anderson Nate Barnhart Xavier DuSell Kenny Foster - has stated his intention to return Graham Ike Jake Kyman Hunter Maldonado Jeremiah Oden Caden Powell Noah Reynolds Cort Roberson (walk-on) Nathaniel Talich (walk-on) Hunter Thompson Brandon Wenzel - has stated his intention to return Wyoming is also looking for an assistant, as former Wyoming asst. coach Sundance Wicks took the head coaching job at Wisconsin-Green Bay
