So while I agree @fishbane brackets makes more sense, who does the current method hurt more? The bye who has a tougher semi draw or the 2 seed (really the #3 guy in the bracket if the bye is #1) who only gets one chance (not 2 out of 3) to beat the bye/#1 guy. I actually they think they should seed the bye and if bye earns the #1 seed then the bracket should be like Fishbanes proposal. The only reason I can think of not doing it that way is if the guy who earns the #1 seed isn't the the returning medalist. Give the returning medalist the bye but if that guy didn't wrestle for a year and someone else has been going to international tournaments and winning/winning the US Open, etc. an argument could be made that they should get the 1 seed over a guy who hasn't competed in a year. (No one has done that so it wouldn't apply this year, I am just trying to think of reasons why the current method makes sense).

Is this NLWC or PSU wrestlers? You can't count both. Hall and Suriano are not NLWC wrestlers; Gillman, Dake and Snyder were not PSU wrestlers. I think NLWC gets the upper 4 weights.

If you want to be considered the greatest in an individual sport you have to win it all. Now, you could make an argument for people with less titles in a GOAT conversation (IMO). Example, Is DT the GOAT PSU wrestler despite having less titles? I don't think titles are the end all be all but, yes you have to win 1 if not more than 1 to be a GOAT.

I wasn't trying to imply the AD doesn't know Askren, but I don't think that alone gets you an in person meeting just because you asked for one with out an agenda or the agenda is just I want to complain about the head coach.

How does anyone give what Minnow says any creditably? Let's think about. He wants us to believe: 1) the AD at Wisconsin has an open door policy and will just take meetings with club coaches of non revenue sports whenever asked? Ben isn't getting past the secretary who has no idea who he is and even if Ben has a direct line to the AD, that AD is managing 20 some sports and isn't taking the time out of his day for a bitch session. 2) That Ben scheduled this meeting to bad mouth Bono and then told it to enough people that Minnow got a hold of it? "Hey guys, I am going to Madison to trash Bono, go tell who ever you want" Minnow is just throwing stuff against the wall. Since Wisconsin hasn't fired Bono yet they probably don't plan to so why not make stuff up and hope people believe him. Kind of pathetic.

As mentioned, MSU has a much better history than what they are producing. But Minkel was so bad at the end that is looks like Chandler has made improvements. (It helps to follow a coach who got negative points at NCAAs). It just seems like apathy has sent in at every level. Chandler was on staff at the end, how much has really changed? Even the wrestling room condition just seems like an excuse. Every coach talks about being a fundraiser as part of their job. If it sucks, change it. It's clear the Administration doesn't care about the results. The coaches/boosters/alumni seemed to have accepted it as well. If only the administration would give them a good wrestling room, things would be different...

Did how Spencer's career finished, end up hurting Iowa's image? They finished 5th this year, in large part due to the unforeseen and unique to them gambling suspensions, were runner up last year and Champs the year before. Spencer had a great career just not what he wanted. My point is looking at the results they are a a top team and Basset style/aggressiveness has that Iowa Style look to it. I guess I am just surprised he isn't considering them. If Spencer went 6/1/1/1 and Iowa won it his last year, does Bo think differently of Iowa?

True Freshman in every sense. There is no such thing as a wrestling "true freshman". Should we make NCAA wrestling an "age level" competition so we can stop judging the appropriate age everyone must be to compete?

Chamizo will be going to the Last Chance Qualifier. He claims its due to corruption. Sure seems like a bad call to me.
