How’s about a friendly wager. Obviously only so long as Lee shows up.

If Lee wins the US Open, you make your sig “I was wrong about Spencer Lee and I can’t wait to see him take out Gilman on June 10”

If Lee doesn’t win, what should I put for my sig?

That’s too much typing. Is there a way to make it a signature?
im actually kinda leaning to Lee takes off rest of year.

Sure why not. Just remind me what to put as the signature if I lose. I is hella busy. How long for? Since I’ll probably lose
If I win (Lee doesn’t win US open) your signature will be

“Spencer was just a bully boy at the smallest weight”

No, he's not the GOAT. It's past time for the Hawkeye fans to recognize that what Tom Brands said about Spencer Lee being the best wrestler of all time was MOTOVATIONAL. Spencer Lee is a fantastic wrestler, a beast, a hammer; everyone knows this, and nobody denies it. He is NOT the GOAT, not at the NCAA level and certainly not at the global level in men's freestyle. I hope he finishes the tournament and gets third in his usual dominating fashion. It will help him get over this loss. I hope his knees are strong enough to wrestle for the 57kg spot on the US team. I believe that if he's healthy, he has a good shot at it. Rest well, Spencer. Life is long, and in the scheme of things, this is a big bump that you will recover and bounce back from.

He was certainly in line to be the #2 NCAA wrestler ever if he won this year. Obviously a huge if, but he was sensational.

No.  He definitely is.  I challenge you to list 10 you'd put in front of him.

Off the top of my head:

The four 4Xers,

Yanni,

The four 3Xers/4X Finalists (Hutton, Kemp, Nolf, Nickal)

Uteke

Craig Henning got screwed in the 2007 NCAA Finals.

#2? No way

Cael and Dake are way ahead of him. The most over looked part of Dake’s dominance was who he beat to win titles. Molinaro, St. John, and Taylor all win titles the next year

It's a moot point, but I would have put Spencer above Dake. Lee was much more dominant.

Hodge.

I can argue for guys like Zain and even I mar. Then you have guys like Brooks and Starocci who can win out and overtake him.

6 losses you don't even belong in this Convo so no reason to even take the argument seriously.

The Lee family travels with tons of surgical tape.  Mrs Lee's glasses will be fine for tomorrows match.  The Iowa team doctor diagnosed it as a hyper-extended and did not recommend any corrective procedures.

I don't understand why Lee would lock around Ramos' body from his knees?  From his half-shot, he could have protected himself much better by transitioning to a leg attack.  Seems that he was inviting trouble.

I saw that and was thinking WTF

Exhausted and wasn't thinking clearly.

That was an easily defendable position. It's a shame. One slight adjustment and he can avoid the fall

Yeah…that’s a tough watch

I recall the Flo / Brands movie where Terry Brands ran out of the arena and tried to climb over a fence after his Olympic loss to Kendall Cross. I believe it was Terry who recruited Spencer Lee. Perhaps it will be Terry who can relate best to Spencer during this really tough time. Lets hope he returns to the mat to finish his career.
