UNC had Champs this year at both 141 and 157 - impressive!

Yeah, if they could get a couple more like those two thru the portal ... maybe podium.   ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That should be allowed don't ya think?

Yes with an addendum:  Teams with similar acronyms may combine points with exception being if you have placed in the top 2 in the previous 2 NCAA tournaments.  OSU might have a shot.

Didn't @Wrestleknownothing confirm that'd be @GreatWhiteNorth 's favorite stinky place ... Greeley, CO ... so UNC?  😉

As soon as I found out MInn's Isaiah Salazar was from Greeley, CO - it did become 100% my favorite stinky place. (That rendering plant near Cabrini Green in Chicago is my 2nd favorite.)

Cabrini-Green? You are in the way back machine.

So, you've heard of it. That's good, my communication effort was a success.

I spent almost a full 2 minutes looking up Cabrini Green and Goose Island and trying to triangulate exactly where the rendering plant is/was from memory. Gave up on that plan.

Hell, I don't know where that rendering plant is/was. But I do know that I had to smell it all the way from Cabrini-Green (or where it used to be for you fussy folks) to the Goose Island area I arrived at for work with a box of donuts in hand.

Smelly trip - but mild by comparison to Greeley, CO.

Excellent portal class this year:

125: Caleb Smith

133: Chris Cannon

141: Sammy Alvarez / Jordan Decatur

149: Jacob Butler / Marcos Polanco

157: Mitchell Mesenbrink

165: Izzak Olejnik / Donald Cates

174: Shane Griffith

184: Bernie Truax

197: Stephen Buchanan / Jakob Woodley

285: Lucas Davison / Yaraslau Slavikouski / Seth Nevills

I would also include Garrett Grice now formerly of Virginia at 133 - Cannon is ranked by WS at # 14 and Grice is # 15.  Also Grice went 13-2 at 133 lbs as a True FR last season.

Alvarez and Decatur are not listed on the Transfer Portal list on WS.

There is also Travis Mastrogiovanni of Oklahoma State at 157 lbs.

Gable is not coming back. We should put all rumors to bed.

Well, they may have been put to bed, but Gable's waking them up again;

This certainly sounds like he could wrestle next season(I'd imagine a limited schedule that UM would be thrilled to get)...cement his status as the greatest HWT ever and then go into Freestyle.

It's not like his training has to change that much. He doesn't ride too much in Folkstyle and the transition for him would be pretty simple...I'd assume.

“I miss being on the mats,” Steveson said, according to an MMAFighting.com article that was also shared on Steveson’s social media. “I miss showcasing my skills every year and going out there and putting on a good show and going out there and winning the national tournament. I miss it. I still have that competitive fighter and hope to get back out there really soon.

I personally don’t look at grad transfers or guys from cut programs the same as the more “free” current portal stuff
