Yup. They are allowed to take a couple (I think 2) consecutive dates of competition and count them as one for this purpose.

Got ya, thanks.  Yeah I did see that they had 2 duals on consecutive days and wasn't sure if maybe that would count as 1 day.

2 times a season you can count back to backs as 1 date

This is sure to warm NHS's heart

As I've said elsewhere (here? BWI?), it's great when guys are able to parlay their wrestling abilities into not one but two degrees. The three NU guys who transferred to Michigan? That's a win.

Max Maylor in the portal

Feels like he graduated from HS at least a decade ago… Heading back home to Wisconsin? It would follow this year’s trend of Wisconsin natives transferring back to the UW.

YES!

Curious where he will end up weight-wise.

He is immediately their best option at 125 OR 133... hell even 141 right now.  The product that Central has been putting out is well down the last few years from the 20 years prior.

Won't catch many folks from Iowa nation wishing those gents the best.

I tip my hat to you.

Maylor should go somewhere he can drop to 165.  He doesn't have the strength needed to compete with the B1G 174lbers.  He has the talent and speed, just lacks the strength and tenacty.  I hope he ends up at one of the MAC schools.  He would contend at 174 there.

I'll wish all of them the best no problem. Was glad to see Michigan load up. I like seeing strong Michigan and Ohio State teams. Also glad to see Iowa State getting back to relevance - we even donated a #1 recruit to them to make room for another 😉. Hope that Minnesota can get back to being tough, they've got some elite uppers in the fold for a good foundation. Hope Oklahoma State can get back to contending as well. Cornell, NC State, Virginia Tech, Northwestern, Missouri.. all places landing and developing big time wrestlers, and others I haven't mentioned. Love to see it all. The field has to help Iowa out every once in a while to take out PSU. 😈

No, I understand all that.

It still doesn't explain how he wrestled attached for four seasons and still has two to go.

He started out the gate as a true frosh.  He didn't redshirt at all, at least not properly.  So the only way he could have two years remaining is if he got a medical redshirt approved.  If he does, I get the two years remaining.

When you factor in the 30% rule, 5/16 = 31.25% which is greater than 30% so that is where I am getting hung up there.

Pretty Simple

2020 - Started as true freshman - counts as 1 year against eligibility

2021 - Started Does not count - Free Covid year

2022 - Started Counts as 2nd year of eligibility

2023 - Red Shirts does not count

That leaves him with 2 years of eligibility

Despite him wrestling in eight duals and Midlands donning the Rutgers singlet last year counts as a redshirt?

Lucas Byrd in the portal and headed to Michigan?

Also, how is he able to wrestle a High School tournament still?

Is it true that Byrd is in the portal?  If so I assume he entered after the deadline?  Or is this a joke and that’s a different kid with the same name?

Did you hear the one about Keuter?

Keuter =/= Kueter

The first has a long 'O' sound and is NSFW and the other has a long 'E' sound and is a football recruit for Iowa.
