Final X Matchups - why can’t I find this anywhere?

Recommended Posts

Must not be looking in the right spot, but can’t find a list of the Final X matchups anywhere online.  So it looks like the following:

57 - Gilman vs Richards

61 - Fix??? vs Vito

65 - Yianni vs Nick Lee

70 - Zain vs Berger

74 - Dake vs Nolf

79 - JB vs Chance

86 - DT vs Brooks

92 - Cox??? vs Macchiavello

97 - Snyder vs Cox???

125 - Zilmer??? vs Gable

So how’s the J’Den Cox situation work out?  And who are the incumbent World Team members at 61kg and 125kg?

Cox declined his 92kg bye to Final X.  As the US Open champ at 97kg, he will go against Snyder at Final X.

There will be WTT tournaments on May 21st at 61kg, 92kg, and 125kg, as there were either no returning world medalists or the returning medalist (Cox) declined their bye.

If there is no returning medalist at the weight, then the US Open Champ will face the winner of the upcoming WTT.

J'den will wrestle Snyder at Final X for the 97 kg spot.

Macchiavello will face the winner of the WTT tournament at Final X for the 92 kg spot.

They need to create the list of WTT challenge tourney qualifiers at 92kg, as this article was published prior to Cox declining his bye to Final X.

Yeah, I just linked that because it describes the process. I would hope they get an updated article out early this coming week.

Also, he may not have officially declined by early April, but he said long ago he was going 97, so they should have added that contingency.

Of the matches that are set at this point, Snyder vs Cox is I guess the marquee match given their combined accolades. What other matches are most interesting? Can any of the challengers threaten the returning medalists?

Marsteller beat JB in one of their 2/3 matches at the last WTT, so he can challenge.

I appreciate all the replies.  Makes sense now at 61, 92 and 125.

Who does qualify to wrestle in the WTT tournament at these weights?  Can guys that wrestled but didn’t win the US Open at these weights wrestle the WTT (almost like a 2nd chance to still make the world team)?

The qualifiers are listed in the link just above your post.
